The attack on Pearl Harbour
On Sunday 7th of December 1941 at 07.55 two waves of japanese aircraft began the deadly attack on the american navy ships, the US Pacific Fleet, at Pearl Harbor on the island of Oahu. During the day, within only two hours, five battleships had been sunk, 16 damaged, and 188 aircrafts destroyed.
Only three US aircraft carriers were saved, which are usually stationed at Pearl Harbor but assigned elsewhere on the day of attack. The attacks killed under 100 Japanese but over 2,400 Americans, with another 1,178 injured.there is a memorial to remember the people who lost there life. For anymore information go to the bbc website
