There are many different activities to do in the local area such as:

Walking : The most breathtaking and stunning walks are along the South West Coast Path. It is a short walk from the cottage and offers access to many secluded coves and beaches. The South Hams area offers all types of walks, from gentle strolls to energetic hikes with the Dartmoor National Park only a short drive away.

Beaches : The small beach at Stoke is a short walk from the cottage. The popular sandy beaches are at Mothecombe and Bigbury. Smaller beaches are at Challaborough, Bantham, Thurlestone and Wembury.

Golf : Excellent golf courses can be found at Thurlestone, Stadden Heights and Bigbury.

Sailing :  Locally there are boating facilities and a sailing school.

Horse Riding : Trekking available locally and on Dartmoor.

Plymouth : Excellent shopping and leisure facilities (theatres, cinemas, skiing, swimming, bowling) plus many historical buildings and themed visitor centres.

Visiting : Choose from many wildlife or adventure parks, Dartmoor National Park, National Trust properties and gardens, Shire Horse Centre, steam railway, craft centres and factory outlets. The Eden Project is 50 miles away in St Austell.

Touring : The area is full of quaint old fashioned towns and villages such as Holbeton, Kingsbridge, Modbury, Salcombe, Totnes.  Or cross the Tamar and discover the delights of east Cornwall.
